What Is SeededGround?
Formed by Justice Shorter, SeededGround (SG) is a Disability Justice practice that produces powerful projects across movement spaces. We strive to sow justice and harvest dreams through work that is imaginative and intersectional. The firm consists of two primary branches. The first branch offers a suite of unique consulting services while the second is comprised of signature SG project/programs. Our consulting work is provided in consideration of community needs, creative capacities, and client requests. All of our signature SG projects are freely available, justice-based and lovingly wedded to world building the futures disabled People of Color deserve.

EMprints are an expression of who we have been, who we are and who we hope to become
An illustrative initiative that reimagines safety, solidarity and survival during crises and emergencies. EMprints are a series of coloring pages, journal pages and activity pages. Each page is an offering of soft space to ponder our own personal and collective preparedness. The illustrated scenes showcase what it looks like when we show up for ourselves and each other. In EMprints, people of color with disabilities are the heroes and heroines, the rescuers and responders, the dreamers and decision makers.
EMprints are an expression of who we have been, who we are and who we hope to become. Despite how often it is said post-disaster, our communities have never been “blank pages” or “blank slates”. Our neighborhoods and our people have always been valuable, vibrant, visionary and bursting with color. Through beautiful artwork and bold thought-work exercises, This series positions people of color with disabilities at the center of every page. We are all impacted by emergencies, but how we navigate them determines which imprints are left on the soil, the water, the air, animal/plant life and our bodies.
This work is dedicated to all of the people of color with disabilities whose lives have been irrevocably changed by preventable crises. It is rooted in remembrance of all the disabled lives lost to the sudden and slow violence of de-prioritization and discrimination during disasters.
May the tragedies of what we’ve witnessed in the past, now allow us to trace out new trajectories for the future. May we continue to leave our mark on this world with every wish whispered and with each fantasy of collective care sketched onto these pages. May you be prompted to proclaim your divine right to etch new survival strategies and resourceful remedies into existence.
